Copa America 2024 Final Game

Argentina Wins Second Straight Copa America Despite Messi Injury

Messi Forced to Watch from Sidelines in Second Half and Extra Time

Argentina won its second straight Copa America title on Saturday, defeating Colombia 1-0 in the final at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. However, the victory was bittersweet for the Argentinians, as star player Lionel Messi was forced to watch much of the second half and extra time due to a leg injury.

Lautaro Martinez Scores Winning Goal

Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal of the game in the 74th minute, heading in a cross from Angel Di Maria. It was Martinez's fourth goal of the tournament, and it proved to be enough to give Argentina the victory.

The win is Argentina's 15th Copa America title, moving them one ahead of Uruguay for the most all-time. It is also the second major trophy for Argentina under manager Lionel Scaloni, who took over the team in 2018.
